I got out of prison 9 years ago wondering what it was going be like after serving 5 years. I reluctantly went to a transition house not knowing what to expect. It didn't take me very long to realize how good of choice I had made by coming to Lincoln House.

I became a house manager right away for Lincoln House. I have been the house manager for 8 years now. Being part of Lincoln House has really helped me to change my life around. I have a great stable sobriety; which has allowed me to a very important part of my kids and grand kids life. I continue to be a part of Lincoln House because I get a good sense of accomplishment from helping others getting out of prison. Helping them with their transition from incarceration to their new addition to our community

I would like to say how grateful I am to everything the program has done for me. Years ago when I was battling with the strokes I was having, The Program Director, provide personal support for my recovery, including not making me pay a program fee for over year while I was in recovery

Prior to getting out of federal prison after so many years, was weighing very heavy on me. With my charges, I knew getting housing was going to be very tricky. Thankfully a friend suggested I call Lincoln House, I had never been in a clean and sober transition house before, so I was unsure what to expect.

When the Program Director picked me up from the federal halfway house, I was feeling very stressed out. However, Mr. Sutherland made me feel very welcome and helped me get all of my services set up that first morning. He got me check into my room at Lincoln House and helped me find a Job. I'm not sure where I would be at today with all the help from Lincoln House

Coming out of State Prison I knew I had no where to go. As release got closer, I knew I couldn't release homeless because I have life time probation. My consoler suggested Lincoln House to me, letting me know, that she knew the Program Director from Lincoln House for years. She stated it could be the best possible chance for a successful re-entry back into the community

I have now been with Lincoln House for over 5 years. In that time I have become a building manager for one of the locations and have been a manager for over 2 years.

I honestly don't know where I would be if it wasn't for all the support, understanding, and giving me a purpose in my life
